 Acadia National Park Workshop

Autumn Foliage October 9th-12th 2012

Come explore Mount Desert Island's natural wonders known as Acadia National Park. Here we will photograph a land of granite worn by ice age glaciers and the sea. Our first photo shoot will be capturing the wonderful marinas of colorful boats, lobster traps and pot-buoys. We will time our shutters to the cycle of sea blow holes as waves crash into sea cliffs while Lobster Boats check their traps. We explore intimate tidal pools filled with Sea Urchins, Sand Dollars, Sea Stars, Whelks, Crabs and Sea Cucumbers. A drive to the highest point along the Atlantic seaboard, Cadillac Mountain. The mountain top is practically bald with spruce trees. We treat ourselves to a 360° view of main land and ocean. A trip to the only fiord found on the continental eastern United States might bring porpoises, seals, bald eagles, cormorants and end our trip shooting the famous and picturesque Bass Harbor Lighthouse. Don't forget some of the best and freshest seafood in the country! The workshop is rated moderately strenuous!
