Paterson Great Falls National Historic District Photography Workshop

Join photographer, Salvatore Vasapolli, in America's newest national park, as he walks the footsteps of one of America's visionary founding fathers, Alexander Hamilton, as he planned the layout of the recently created democracy's first industrial park around the 78 foot tall Great Falls of the Passaic River in New Jersey. In the falls he saw a complex of factories all powered through a series of canals as they made their way along cliffs, slopes and flats. Paterson thus became the most important center of commerce outside New York City. At a time, It produced all its locomotives, much of the slik, including colt 45's hand guns and even the first submarine. With the Great Falls as our focal point, we will expand out along the canals, historic buildings and museums for a day of capturing a small glimpse of Early America's industrial past.
