Photo-Safari Lodging
Safari Lodging
Lodge with us Photo-Safari style! Our clients have voiced much enjoyment in camping out as compared to the formality of staying in motels. The camp outs cut down your cost of a room! Stay in one of our large tents as we camp out in or near our workshop locations for a rustic safari adventure. You supply your sleeping bag and we supply a roof over your head. You still have the option of staying in a local motel if you want as long as we are staying near civilization!  Tents are dormitory style or single/ double occupancy. We serve coffee, tea or hot cocoa but you are welcome to bring your own food- we recommend backpacking (we supply the hot water) or canned meals if we are in backcountry locations, otherwise we will patronize local restaurants. Showers available if none are available at or near our campsite. Comfy air mattresses provide soft but firm restful nights!

Costs are specific for each workshop. Ask for details!

Private Workshop Day Rate- $1090.00/  5 Days  $5,000.00 for USA Locations- $225.00 per day for each additional person¹

Our workshops classes are limited to low student/instructor ratio to maximize your learning experience!

Full payment is required for workshops costing under $700. For workshop costing over $700, a $700 deposit is required to reserve a space in a workshops and balance payment or full payment is required three months in advance of the workshop. Full payment required 6 months in advance for all locations outside of USA. 50% of Private Workshops fees are required at time of booking. Bookings eight months in advance for all USA locations receive an early bird discount of 10% when paid in full!

*Cancellations within 2 months of scheduled  workshop are Non-Refundable otherwise all deposits and payments are 100% refundable before then. At our discretion canceled workshop payments may be applied to another workshop if a replacement student is booked for the original workshop. We reserve the right to cancel workshops with full refund 30 days before tour date due to insufficient student sign up or other causes beyond our powers- before we cancel a workshop students can collectively agree to hold the workshop if they provide sufficient funds to cover the minimum enrollment costs or truncate the workshop with less days or other expenses! Weather is part of the course and we hold classes unless we experience a deluge the whole day without any photography. In that event, we will try to  schedule a rain date toward the end of the event if possible or apply the day as a discount to another workshop at our discretion.  We reserved the right to add more students to a workshop. to cover additional costs or accommodate workshop cancellees.

Upon full payment, each participant will receive a basic itinerary,  (itineraries can be subject to change due to events outside our control) and preparation list of basic supplies to bring- from camera gear to clothing and hotel, car rentals companies found within the workshop location.

Price may increase for last minute enrollees within 30-60 days of start of workshop due to increased costs and fees associated with accommodating late enrollments. Even though we block/ hold rooms, the room we hold are the most economical, if you wish upgrading Hotel room accomodations, doing so can be very limited in popular locations such as National Park during peak tourist season therefore we highly recommend booking your tour more than a half year early to secure luxury lodging.

Depending on the workshop, most rates do not include travel expenses, such as transportation, lodging, food, rentals and some fees or permits.

All workshop students receive free pre and post workshop image internet critiques. Post workshop processing instruction- length of instruction is base on each individual workshop, ie. the longer, the more post instruction you receive. Usually, one workshop day equals one hour of post instruction but students are always welcome to ask questions by email anytime in the future. Students can access our ever expanding web self-help instructional pages on many subjects of photography! Digital processing classes may or may  not be included on all workshops as photographic opportunities take precedent over digital processing instruction. One day events do not have Post Digital Process Classes unless specified. Workshop digital classes may or may not take place as we feel it is more important to take advantage of a location to create as many great images as possible. Distant locales cost hundreds to thousands of dollars to visit so to sit in a hotel conference room doing tasks that can be done while back in the comfort of your home or attending a classes at your college or private school would be a waste of precious time!

We expect everyone to know the basics of photography and how to use own their camera. If you purchase a new camera, make sure to bring along the manual. Though, we will try to help you, we can not be held responsible for knowing how to use everyone's camera. You must know how to use the controls, such as f-stop, shutter speeds and ISO, etc... We are not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen equipment and suggest purchasing equipment insurance before your trip. All  participants are required to sign Release Forms.

¹ Private Workshops permit fees are not included and are additional to the workshop fees. Other fees, dependent on the location, instructor's travel, lodging and food expenses are additional to the Private Workshop Day Rate!

To take advantage of our  Early Bird Discount (only USA locations qualify), you must book those events eight months in advance.

We accept all credit cards over the phone. Please call: 973.464.3354
